Got the Westy back on the road, it has been a long winter and I was missing it. First job after the damaged wheel arch was changed was to get the car down to BLiNK Motorsport for a Geo setup. When little brother span it at Oulton Park it was obvious it had taken a knock so time to get the wheels straight before the run down to Stoneleigh Kit Car show
The day out at Stoneleigh was great fun and the furthest the Westy had gone in a single trip. With the show out of the way I have decided to tackle some of the winter upgrades that I didn't get around to. First was the upgrade of the handbrake by adding a turnbuckle, I didn't take any photos but this worked a treat, I have also moved the intercom to the rear of the tunnel and fitted a Sat Nav unit.
Next big job is to create a lockable boot box. My plan is to modify the original boot box and give it a lockable cover. I didn't fit the boot box originally so have to do all the cutting for the roll bars.

That was the easy bit, any mistakes to this point will be covered by the new lid. I have bought some MDF for the lid and a roll of CF wrap to cover it. I also have some catches meant for a horsebox and some hinges designed for a yacht. Next step is to make a very accurate template as I want as little space around the roll-bar supports as possible.
Home stretch now. Loads of sanding and it is time for the carbon wrap. The end result looks pretty good, still have some tweeks to do and I had to put a join in the lid so I may have to re-do this at a later date.
